Job Description
Job Title: Storage and Backup Administrator
This position is for a mid to senior level Storage and Backup
Administrator in a large, diverse application environment consisting
mostly of Unix, Windows, ESX servers.
Hours:
Candidate must be willing to provide 24*7 on-call support including
some weekend work.
Required Expertise:
Tivoli Spectrum Protect (TSM), Veritas Netbackup , Veeam, Veritas
Netbackup Appliance, SLP, EMC Data Domain, NDMP, Tape Library, Linux ,
Windows.
Primary skills:
Linux, Windows, VMWare, Oracle, MSSQL, Sybase
Job Responsibilities:
*
Work with Linux/Windows administrators on troubleshooting
backup/restore issues
*
Install, patch, upgrade Spectrum Protect and Veritas Netbackup
products
*
Day to day administration of backups for NetApp NAS, Vmware and
physical servers.
*
Regular/periodic operational tasks include:
*
Install and setup data protection SW
*
Periodic patching and upgrading the DP SW
*
Generate backup reports on demand
*
Satisfy periodic audit requests
*
Handle Service Now tickets for backup, restores, schedule changes,
etc.
*
Manage Disk/Tape hardware (Data Domain and LTO tape drives)
*
Liaison with vendors on support cases
*
Work as escalation for Unix and Windows backups troubleshooting
*
Good to have skills:
*
Experience with Linux/Unix, command line, shell and python
programming, API programming
*
Experience with SAN and NAS technologies
*
Knowledge on cyber recovery and air gap technologies
Job Requirements:
*
5 years of experience in a role related to storage and backup –
*
Minimum of 3 years of experience and have in-depth knowledge with
NetBackup
*
Have already installed and configured data protection with NetBackup
in a large company
*
Perform periodic software updates and upgrades, generate backup
reports
*
Have at least a general knowledge of TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager)
*
Knowledge/Expertise with IBM SAN (Major Requirement) Veeam, EMC Dell
*
Experience in a Unix/Linux environment
*
General knowledge of databases Ensure that the tasks carried out with
the tools are highlighted in the CV, not just putting the technology
in the technological environment
