Field Team Leader
We’re looking for a Field Team Leader for our Deer Lake site in anticipation of the next harvest season which normally begins in early April. As a Team Lead you would be responsible for leading a team in day-to-day operations, and preparing fields for harvest, harvesting, and ensuring the quality of the harvested peat. Take note – We have close housing available!
JOB SUMMARY:
• Plan and schedule work as directed by the foreman;
• Keep track of the hydraulic and mechanical equipment ensuring it is in good working condition and is being properly used and maintained by the operators;
• Verify peat quality (water content and weight per cubic foot) and the amount of peat at the time of harvest in the fields;
• Train, mentor and keep employees informed of updates to operations;
• Schedule employee breaks and ensure employees are following the schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in peat field work;
• Previous Team Lead experience considered an asset;
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate;
• Team player, who is reliable and takes a proactive approach to problem solving;
• Ability to organize and prioritize work with a sense of urgency.
